Opening Statements Set For Man Accused Of Killing Mother, Child
RILEY COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) - Opening statements are set to begin for a man accused of killing a mother and her child in Riley County.
24-year-old Luis Aguirre is charged with capital murder for the 2009 deaths of his 18-year-old girlfriend Tanya Maldonado and the couple's 13-month-old son Juan.
Their bodies were found in a shallow grave in Ogden.
A jury was seated last Friday.
Opening statements are scheduled to begin on June 18 and could last up to a month.
