TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Another rally at the Statehouse Wednesday drew attention to the many babies born exposed to drugs.

The Kansas Alliance for Drug Endangered Children of Shawnee County strung 274 baby onesies on clothes lines representing the number of Shawnee County infants born each year exposed to substances.

Mayor Bill Bunton signed a proclamation on April 10 establishing Wednesday as DEC awareness day.

The day raises awareness of the risks children face living in dangerous drug environments.
