RILEY COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) -- Riley County police say a 17-year-old girl was trying to put a cover on her Bible as she was driving when she lost control of her car on K-177.

On Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 2:15 PM, officers and paramedics responded to K-177 (otherwise known as Pillsbury) about one mile north of I-70 (near mile marker 98) for a report of a single vehicle rollover accident.

Officials say Bailey Cormack, 17, from Olathe, was in the outside lane on K-177 South when she lost control of her 1995 Toyota Corolla. Her car went into a ditch on the west side of the road and flipped over several times.

According to an RCPD spokesman, Cormack suffered a head injury in the crash. Sources say she was up and walking around at the scene.

Cormack was taken to Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan by Riley County EMS. A spokeswoman for the hospital told WIBW that the teen was treated and released.

Police could not elaborate on where the teen was going or coming from at the time of the accident.
