Officials Say Morning Fires Were Intentionally Set

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Officials are investigating multiple fires they say were intentionally set Thursday morning in Topeka.

The Topeka Fire Department was called to 615 SW 6th around 4:45 Thursday morning, where they found an old ambulance on fire.

Around 5 a.m. they responded to a dumpster fire behind a Pizza Hut located at 10th and Topeka Blvd.

At 5:33 a.m. a 3rd call was reported at 903 SW 6th, where the porch of a commercial property was on fire.

Investigators say the fires along 6th street were both arson. They said Thursday it was to early in the investigation to say for certain if the incidents were connected. No injuries were reported.
