TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Officials in Brown County are asking for the public's help in finding a man who may be impersonating a cop.

According to a resident, the man, described as a white male, 5'9", wearing civilian clothing, approached them saying he was a deputy and wanted to ask them questions.

Sheriff John Merchant says that plain clothed officers must be able to show proper credentials when asked.

Contact the Brown County Sheriff's department if you have seen this man.
