Topeka, Kan. (WIBW) - October unemployment number are out and the decrease has continued.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for October was 5.7%, down .2% from September.
The non-adjusted rate was 5.2%, a decrease from 5.3% in September and 6.2% one year ago.
Kansas gained 8,700 private sector jobs since October 2011, a 0.8% increase. The state added 8.400 non-farm jobs during this time. Kansas has gained 1,000 private sector jobs and 6,100 non-farm jobs since September 2012.
The Government gained 5,100 seasonal jobs. Education and health services gained 700 jobs since September and other services gained 600 jobs.
