TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - There's a new scam going around targeting senior citizens.
Kansans are reporting they are receiving recorded calls from a man named "John" who claims to be with "Medical Alert".
The man tells people they can get a free medical alert device and just need to confirm their shipping information.
Consumers are then transferred to a telemarketer who asks for a credit card number to cover shipping and monitoring fees.
Attorney General Derek Schmidt says the calls are a way to get your personal information and you should never have to pay for a "free" product.
