New Fiesta Mexicana Royalty Crowned

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)- One of the most important events of Fiesta Mexicana took place tonight.

New fiesta royalty was crowed at the Kansas Expocentre Saturday night after a grueling four month fundraising campaign.

Johna Lea Herrera was announced queen of the festivities. Johnna attended Hayden High School and recently graduated from Baker University with a degree in nursing.

Xavier Rodriguez was announced as king. Xavier attended Hayden High School and Seaman High School.

Magdalena Gallegos was announced princess. Magdalena is currently a senior at Topeka High School where she is involved in tennis and soccer.

The three combined to raise a grand total of $103,893. All proceeds benefit Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
