New Assistance Available For Former Hostess Workers

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Kansas Department of Commerce announced new assistance Wednesday those effected by the Hostess closings.

Former Hostess workers, including those at the company's Emporia facility, are eligible to apply for Trade Adjustment Assistance or TAA. The program provides training funds and re-employment services for U.S workers who have lost their jobs as a result of foreign trade.

Informational meetings are being scheduled. In the meantime, affected workers may get information from their local Kansas WorkForce Center, online at www.kansasworks.com or by calling 877-509-6757.
