TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Two people are in the hospital with life-threatening gunshot wounds following a shooting early Friday morning.
Topeka Police officers were called to the shooting at about 1 a.m. at 1116 SE Locust. When they arrived, they found a 21-year-old victim inside the home. That person was taken to a local hospital by ambulance.
Officers discovered a 26-year-old shooting victim was taken to the hospital by private vehicle. Both victims' injuries were considered life-threatening.
Several witnesses were brought to the Law Enforcement Center for interviews and several leads were being followed. Authorities applied for search warrants for several cars, the Locust house, as well as a neighborhood canvas.
