TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Drivers will have to wait a bit longer to use the new Highway 24 bridge and avoid a detour on North Topeka boulevard...
KDOT officials said Wednesday that delayed construction of the shoofly lanes, carrying traffic through on Hwy. 24 while a new bridge is built, has pushed the overall completion date back to October 16th. Originally, Topeka Boulevard was scheduled to reopen in late September.
Officials blame the delays on differences in the construction plans and road conditions.
