TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A bike rider is recovering with non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a truck Tuesday.
The driver of a gray Ford F-150 pick-up truck was turning left at 6th and Quincy when he struck a male bike rider. The driver didn't see the cyclist as he was turning, according to Topeka Police on scene.
The incident closed the intersection of 6th and Quincy to traffic for a while Monday morning.
The mother of the bicyclist said he is 16 years old. She tells 13 News he broke his collarbone in three places and is "pretty bruised and banged up," but is expected to be okay. She said he was on his was home from cashing his first paycheck when he was hit.
