GOODLAND, Kan. (AP) _ A winter storm was edging into western Kansas, forcing the closure of a stretch of Interstate 70 near the Colorado border.
The Kansas Department of Transportation says a 17-mile stretch of the interstate from Goodland into Colorado was closed Saturday evening because of the winter weather and because of limited hotel accommodations.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for late Saturday through Sunday morning for western Kansas, which was expected to see light snow and high winds up to 40 miles per hour, creating low visibility.
