Mom Accused Of Putting Baby In Dumpster Seeks Trial Delay

EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW) - A women accused of dumping her newborn in the trash wants her trial delayed again.

Christina Devine's attorneys will ask a judge Friday to postpone proceedings because witnesses aren't available for the currently scheduled March 12th trial date. She's charged with attempted murder.

Devine is accused of putting her newborn in a sack and leaving it in an apartment complex dumpster in October 2010. The child survived.

Her trial has been delayed three times already, largely due to Devine's diagnosis with neurofibromitosis. NF is a genetic disorder that creates tumors in the nervous system.
