Miss Kansas Title Awarded To K-State Student

PRATT, Kan. (WIBW)--A Kansas State University student was crowned Miss Kansas Saturday night.

22-year-old Theresa Vail took home the crown. She was Miss Leavenworth County 2013.

Her platform is, "Empowering Young Women Through Male-Dominated Outdoor Activities".

She is originally from Manhattan and attends Kansas State University.

According to the Miss Kansas Organization Facebook Page, Vail won preliminary swimsuit.

Vail will go on to compete for Miss America in Atlantic City, NJ on September 15.

1st Runner up is Ashley Ulmer, 2nd Runner up is Alyssa Marsh, 3rd Runner up is Danielle Hill and 4th Runner up is Hannah Langley.
