Middle School Students Reach Out To Topeka North Outreach

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Topeka North Outreach received a big donation, thanks to some local middle schoolers.

The Seaman Middle School student council presented a $4100 donation to TNO at an assembly Wednesday. The money was raised through student game day, where each classroom sponsors an activity and students have to pay to play.

The fundraiser began in 1987. That year, the money raised was sent to help with the restoration of the Statue of Liberty. Since 1988, the money has gone to TNO. The organization assists families in need in northern Shawnee County.

The district has donated more than $70,000 to the organization throughout the years.
