TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Medications linked to a nationwide meningitis outbreak did not make their way to Kansas.
Spokespeople with St. Francis and Stormont-Vail in Topeka say their hospitals and clinics have not purchased from the New England Compound Center in Framingham, Massachusetts. In fact, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment says no Kansas hospitals received shipments from the facility.
The New England Compound Center has recalled all of its products since a steroid injection it produced was linked to a fungal meningitis that's sickened 105 people in eight states, eight people have died from it.
