Mayetta Murder Suspect Waives Preliminary Hearing

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The suspect accused of shooting a Mayetta man in January appeared in Jackson County court Friday.

Lloyd Wabaunsee waived his preliminary hearing. He will return to court July 26th for arraignment.

Prosecutors tell us they are negotiating a plea for that day.

Wabaunsee is charged in the January 10th shooting death of Kevin Stanley at Stanley's Mayetta home.

Wabaunsee was arrested a week later in Iowa. Authorities found him in the trunk of a car in a grocery store parking lot.
