MARYSVILLE, Kan. (WIBW)- The debris covering parts of Marysville Tuesday was scattered in matter of minutes.
"Our weather radio went off and I said we need to get to the basement," said homeowner, Dorothy Pacha.
"It was so quick by the time I got to the kitchen I knew it was a tornado," said homeowner, Cathy Yager.
Homeowners dug through the rubble, salvaging what they could.
"The worst part is that my daughters had memorabilia in tubs and it's scattered so we're hoping we can recover some of that," said Yager.
While the community cleaned up, a National Weather Service team assessed the damages. The tornado damaged the Oregon Trail Equipment John Deere dealership west of Marysville and destroyed another business, Precision Truss.
Despite the destruction, people in Marshall County found something to be thankful for.
"Nobody was hurt nobody was killed so we are thankful for that," said Chad Omitt from the National Weather Service Team.
