Man Shot During Junction City Altercation

Junction City, Kan. (WIBW) - Junction City Police responded Monday morning to a report of a man with a gunshot wound to the leg at Geary Community Hospital.

An investigation revealed that two men were apparently involved in an altercation in the 600 block of N. Eisenhower and exchanged gunfire.

The motive for the shooting is still under investigation but a 29-year-old Junction City man, Albert Banks, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Criminal Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Criminal Damage to Property.

The investigation into the matter continues.

Mr. Banks, who was the gunshot wound victim, was treated and released from Geary Community Hospital. He will be held at the Geary County Jail until his First Appearance in Geary County District Court
