Man Robbed At Gunpoint, Suspect Arrested

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Topeka Police say a man was robbed at about 12:35 a.m. Friday morning at Carriage House Apartments, 1601 SW 37th Terrace, Topeka.

The victim told police a white man and a black man armed with a handgun stole from him and also took items from his car.

When officer were responding to the crime scene they noticed a stolen car driving north on SW Topeka Boulevard and pulled it over in the 700 block of S. Topeka. Two people in the car were taken into custody and one man ran from police.

The person that ran was eventually found in the 700 block of SW Polk and arrested. His name hasn't been released as of 1:55 a.m. Friday, but police described him as a bald, black male wearing a puffy jacket and a baseball cap.

The victim's property was recovered as a result of the arrests, along with a gun.

Topeka Police Department's CID was called back to the scene at about 1:45 a.m. and was interviewing three people.
