HORTON, Kan. (WIBW) - Horton police have tentatively identified the man killed in a house explosion in Brown County Friday.

Police believe 58-year-old Ronnie L. Tulk was killed in the blast on 1588 2nd Avenue West, based upon evidence at the scene.

"After searching the debris for some time, the body of a deceased male subject was located in the remnants of the home," Horton Police Chief Beau Hasenohr said in a press release, adding that the man was the lone occupant of the home. "Confirmation is still pending results from testing being conducted."

"The Kansas State Fire Marshal's office is assisting in the investigation of the blast and preliminary findings are that of a probable gas explosion," Hasenohr said.
