Man Admits To Stealing Four Vehicles Overnight

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Topeka Police say they arrested Nicholas Claspill, 21, Thursday morning after they say he led them on a chase through part of north Topeka.

Police responded to a stolen car report at 942 NE Wabash, Topeka, at about 2 a.m. Officers spotted the reported vehicle, a white Dodge Dakota, at First and Jackson. When they tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver refused.

Police say the suspect led them on a chase to the 700 block of Roosevelt, where the truck got stuck. That's when authorities say Claspill bailed and ran from the vehicle. He was soon arrested for Auto Theft, Fleeing and Eluding and confessed to stealing 4 vehicles over night.

Authoritites say this is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Detectives at 368-9400 or Crime Stoppers at 234-0007.
