WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -- A man was seriously injured in an officer-involved shooting in southwest Wichita.
It began around noon as a woman called Behavioral Services saying there was a man at a home with a gun to his mouth. That employee then called 911.
Officers responded to check the welfare of the man at the home in the 2300 block of West Graber, near 31st Street South and Meridian.
When officers entered, police say the situation escalated and shots were fired. A 30-year-old man was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. No one else was inside.
Police are calling the incident an officer-involved shooting, but few other details are being released at this point.
