Man Suffers Severe Stab Wound, Two Sent To Hospital

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-On October 20, 2012 at about 8:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of a cutting at 1235 SW Huntoon (Charlies Liquor). Upon arrival, officers spoke with Clifinson Fanus 32, Topeka and Lucas Chase, 33, Topeka. They were involved a verbal disturbance that escalated into Mr. Fanus receiving a serious non-life threatening injury from being cut.

The suspect that cut Mr. Fanus dropped his knife and a second suspect picked it up and started
swinging it around. Mr. Chase stepped in to protect Mr. Fanus and received a non-life threatening cut.

Both Fanus and Chase were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The second suspect was taken into custody at the scene. The suspect that cut Mr. Fanus left the area on foot prior to police arrival. He is described as fair complected white male, dark hair, wearing black sweat shirt blue jeans.

Investigation continues, police ask anyone with information to call Detective Jack Sanders at 368-9508 or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 234-0007
