TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A man was rescued floating down the Arkansas River this morning, even though he fought crews because he apparently didn't want to be rescued.

Police initially received a call that a man was floating in a tube down the river, waiving his hands at the Maple Street Bridge in Wichita.

Rescue workers set up south of him with ropes and a jet ski, but the man wouldn't grab the rope and resisted all rescue attempts.

He can be heard yelling at rescue workers that he's not doing anything wrong.

Crews still pulled him out of the water to safety. To find that he did have warrants for his arrest, according to our sister station KAKE.
