Man Indicted On Bank Robbery Charge

Topeka, Kan. (WIBW) - A Topeka man has been indicted on a bank robbery charge.

20-Year-Old Brandon Barrington is charged in the September 25th robbery of Community Bank at 2909 SW Topeka Blvd.

He was initially charged in a sealed criminal complaint filed September 26th in U.S. District Court in Topeka. The complaint alleges that Barrington pulled a knife from his pocket and demanded a teller give him money. Topeka Police Officers spotted him shortly after the robbery near 31st and Lincoln. He was arrested after a foot chase. Investigators learned he had stolen a car prior to the robbery, which he abandoned after it broke down near southeast 29th and California.

Barrington faces a maximum 20 years in federal prison and a fine up to 250-thousand dollars if convicted...
