TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A man was beaten and robbed Sunday afternoon in Topeka. Police responded to a robbery at 205 SE 25th St., around 2:30 p.m.

Officials say Shawn Morris, 41, told police that several individuals, some of whom he knew, kicked in the door of the trailer and demanded items from him.

The suspects then beat Morris with objects and a firearm before leaving in Morris's 2003 maroon GMC Envoy, and a white older model vehicle believed to be a Cadillac.

Morris was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
