Man Arrested For Impersonating Doctor At Manhattan Pharmacies
MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- A Seneca man was arrested in Manhattan after police say he called local pharmacies pretending to be a doctor so that he could get his hands on prescription drugs.
Patrick Wahl, 27, was taken into custody Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the Manhattan Target for two counts of Attempting to Unlawfully Obtain a Prescription Drug and two counts of False Impersonation.
On January 3, 2013, Riley County police say Wahl contacted the pharmacy at the Walgreens on Anderson Avenue and told the staff he was a doctor as he tried to get orders filled for prescription pills.
On January 9, 2013, Wahl also tried to phone-in a prescription at the pharmacy at Target off of Seth Child Road acting as a doctor, according to police.
Later in the day, he showed up to try to pick up the prescription medicines at the Target at the same time a police officer was there investigating Wahl's earlier phone call and fake persona.
Wahl was arrested and has since made bond, officials said.
