Male Targeting Females in Anneberg Park, Manhattan

Between Thursday, May 26, 2011 and Sunday, May 29, 2011, there have been three sexual battery incidents that have occurred on Anneberg Park’s walking trail. All three incidents happened between 9:00 and 10:30 am. The suspect approached the women from behind while they were walking or jogging on the trail and then inappropriately touched, restrained and/or groped them while out of view of other persons. The female victims range in age between 27 and 77 years old.

The suspect is believed to be a thin black male between 5’06” and 5’10” tall and possibly between the ages of 17 to 22 and departed westbound out of the park after each incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Riley County Police Department as the cases are still under investigation.

Please take reasonable safety measures to protect against becoming an additional victim. Exercise in pairs, increase personal awareness and avoid isolated areas concealed from public view, and contact the police immediately to report people crouching in the tree line or acting in a way that raises alarm.
