TOPEKA, Kan (WIBW)-- One local restaurant expanded outdoors Friday.
Lupita's became the area's first permanent outdoor dining area on Kansas Avenue with a ribbon cutting.
The mexican restaurant is owned by the Munoz family.
It has been a staple of Topeka dining for 17 years.
The family had a purple ribbon and balloons in honor of David M00unoz, former owner and brother of the current owners who died of cancer four years ago--his favorite color was purple.
