TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Low income seniors can get a break on some locally grown produce.
The Kansas Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program will give low income seniors $30 to use during the 2012 harvest season on fruits, vegetables, herbs and honey at local farmers markets.
To be eligible to receive benefits, you must be 60 or older and must meet certain income requirements such as a salary lower than $20,665 per year ($1,723/month).
Applications for the program can be found at Jayhawk Area on Aging located on SW Topeka Boulevard.
Applicants will be served on a first come, first serve basis.
