TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Local high school students with a "knack" for art were honored Friday.
Eight students were recognized during the Topeka Performing Art Center's 19th Annual Young Artist of the Year reception.
The awards are handed out to local high school juniors who excel in fine arts, including dance, theatre, and music, and who enrich the schools and their community.
Each student received a scholarship, ranging from $170 to $1,000.
The grand prize of $1,000 went to Joseph Teeter for his work in instrumental music.
