TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A group of senior citizens had the chance to get out and get back to nature Wednesday.
Eventide Convalescent Center residents enjoyed an outing where they could enjoy the simple life of farming and the beautiful weather. They visited Woodlawn Farm. The property off SE 6th Street, just east of the K4/I70 interchange is owned by businessman Gary Gilbert and his wife. They welcomed residents for an authentic "cream can" dinner.
Many of the Eventide residents grew up on local farms and the trip gave them a chance to open up about old memories.
