TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Topeka Mayor Bill Bunten's questionable jokes prior to his State of the Community speech landed him a spot on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" Wednesday evening.
Bunten faced critics this week with remarks he made leading up to the State of the Community address. It felt like a roast of Shawnee County Commissioner Ted Ensley.
The joke Bunten told that aired on Leno was: "He said Emmie Lou Watson was his graduation date. And I know Emmi Lou Watson," Bunten said, "She's a lady that is also a magician. I think she was probably pretty good, too, because she said that she charged $25 a trick."
Bunten also joked about Ensley dating a Native American. He said every time the two danced, it would start raining.
Leno featured Bunten in a segment he called "Mr. Inappropriate." Watch the Leno clip here.
