TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) If at first you do not succeed, try and try again. A state budget deal has in fact been decided upon.
According to C-J online the house and senate negotiators came together on a budget deal just before midnight Saturday which should end the session already in overtime. Education was the main hold up in the process.
Originally the senate demanded $77 million dollars in new school funding, but had to settle for a more modest $40 million in order to come to an agreement.
The house is scheduled to vote on the bill at 10 o'clock this morning and the senate to vote soon afterwards.
