Lebo Man Convicted Of Child Molestation

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A Lebo man has been sentenced to life in prison on child molestation charges.

Alvin Houston III, 43, was convicted January 16th, in a Coffey County courtroom for molesting a 4 year-old.

District Judge Phillip Fromme sentenced Houston to a term of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for at least 40 years.

Houston was sentenced accordance to the provisions of "Jessica Law,"
during an interview with the Coffey County Police, Houston provided a detailed confession of the molestation.

Coffey County Attorney Douglas Witteman says Houston gave investigators a detailed confession when he was interviewed. The former Ottawa-area resident previously was convicted of trying to rape someone under 14 in Franklin County in 2000.
