TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A former Topeka lawyer convicted in the 2010 hit and run death of a bicycle rider has settled a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the victim's family.
Marc Schultz was driving under the influence of alcohol, marijuana and prescription drugs with his 5 year old son in the car when he fatally struck 55 year old Timothy Roberts.
The settlement was approved June 13.
Schultz was is serving a five year, two month prison sentence for a criminal conviction of involuntary manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident and a fourth DUI.
