TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Renovations to a Douglas County Humane Society means dozens of four-legged friends need temporary homes.
The Lawrence Humane Society is looking for temporary foster homes for about 60 of their dogs while the shelter is repaired in February.
Free foster care orientation sessions will be held on January 24th, 26th and 31st, and February 2nd for those who are interested. Each orientation will be held at the Douglas County Fairgrounds at the following times and locations:
• Thursday, January 24: 5pm in Building 1
• Saturday, January 25: 1pm in Building 2
• Thursday, January 31: 5 pm in Building 1
• Thursday, February 2: 1 pm in Building 2
No registration is required and the Humane Society will provide free pet food, supplies and vet care for the fostered animals.
Volunteers are required to register and pay a $10 license fee.
