Lauren Rosso Laid to Rest This Morning

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Lauren Rosso, the 16-year-old former Seaman High School student who took her life Thursday night, was laid to rest this morning.

Friends and family members gathered at Grace Episcopal Church to give condolences and celebrate her life.

Friends held a candle ligth vigil Saturday night to remember the good times.

"Lauren's family would just like to express their gratitude for all the love and support that has poured out from the community from friends and family and the community," family friend Matt Broxterman said.

Those close to Lauren say she was battling a mental disorder. She tragically jumped last Thursday from a bridge over I-470 and was struck by a passing SUV.

A sign that reads "Team Lauren" is displayed on the overpass.
