TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A Shawnee County man was beaten and robbed outside his Lake Sherwood home Thursday night.
He told Shawnee County Sheriff's deputies he arrived to his home at 7512 SW Blue Inn Place before 10:06 p.m. He says two men approached him and hit him several times with what he described as metal bars or tire irons.
Authorities say at least one suspect was armed with a handgun.
The two men ran on foot after stealing the victim's wallet.
Mission Township Fire Department responded to the scene, but the victim refused medical treatment.
Topeka Police responded to help search for the suspects with a K9. 13 News has asked authorities if the men were located, but has not received a response Friday morning.
