United Methodist Church destroyed in EF-2 Tornado, Harveyville
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A Topeka pizza place is joining the Restaurants for Recovery effort by donating money to the United Way of Greater Topeka's Harveyville Tornado Recovery Fund.
The town is still rebuilding after the F2 tornado that tore through on February 28, 2012. It damaged more than 40% of the community. Sixteen homes were completely destroyed and one person was killed.
When you eat at LaRocca's Pizza, 2025 SW Urish Road, on Tuesday, May 22, 10% of food sales will be donated to the fund.
"Participating restaurants have agreed to give their time and money for a good cause. Please join and make a big difference. Best of all, 100% of funds donated to Harveyville relief efforts through United Way of Greater Topeka go straight to Harveyville relief."
