Kobach: Voter Turnout May Exceed Expectations

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach made the rounds as voters cast their ballot Tuesday.

Kobach visited polling locations in Wyandotte, Johnson and Shawnee counties. 13 News caught up with him at a site near Lake Shawnee with his daughter Tuesday afternoon.

This is the first general election in Kansas where voters must show identification at the polls. Kobach told 13 News it didn't appear to cause any problems.

Kobach also says that based on feedback he's getting, the state may surpass the 68% voter turnout he'd predicted last week.
