Kansas Supreme Court Upholds Topeka Murder Conviction
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Kansas Supreme Court upheld a Topeka man's conviction in a gang-related murder Friday.
Antwan Peppers is serving a "Hard 50" sentence plus another 23 years for the 2007 killing of Jermaine Cunningham and wounding Terrell Hayes-Osby. They were shot outside Terry's Bar and Grill by three gunmen firing at their parked car.
Peppers' lawyer claimed too much was made in the trial of Peppers' gang affiliation. But the High court ruled it was relevant evidence.
