FT. BRAGG, NC (AP) - A Kansas soldier who shot and killed his superior officer at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, then turned the gun on himself, has died.
The Army said 27-year old Spc. Ricky Elder of Hutchinson died Friday. A day earlier, they say he opened fire during a unit safety briefing.
Lt. Col. Roy Tisdale of Alvin, Texas was killed. Another soldier from California was wounded.
A statement from Fort Bragg says Elder was awaiting a court martial on charges he stole a $1700 toolkit.
