(WIBW/KGWN) - A Kansas pilot remained in critical condition Wednesday night after his plane crashed in a field just outside Cheyenne, Wyoming Tuesday.

38-year-old Michael Childress of Nortonville was spraying for mosquitoes when his Cessna 188 plane went down. Investigators believe he may have hit a power line.

Witnesses say Childress was able to pull himself out and was walking around when paramedics arrived.

Childress suffered burns to his upper body and is being treated at a burn center in Greeley, Colorado.
