LA CYGNE, Kan. (KAKE) — A woman is dead after she was struck by a train Tuesday in eastern Kansas.

It happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the town of LaCygne, located in Linn County. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports that a woman was walking westbound in the eastbound lane of Market Street when she was hit by a northbound train.

She died at the scene. She's been identified as 64-year-old Linda K. Durk of Pleasanton.
