EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW) - Technology in the classroom, armed security guards and more diverse student populations were on the table today when the Kansas Teacher of the Year delegation visited Emporia State University.

The eight teachers from various school districts spent the day with students who are training to become teachers.

The group shared their experiences in the classroom and offered ways to help students connect curriculum with real-world experiences.

They also toured the national teachers hall of fame, which is housed in Emporia State’s Teachers College.
