Kansas Taxpayers Embrace Online Filing

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - More Kansas taxpayers are taking to filing their returns online.

The Kansas Department of Revenue said Friday that 92 percent - or 1.3 million - Kansas filers sent their returns electronically for the 2012 tax year. By contrast, only 112,000 people returned returns by mail.

Revenue Secretary Nick Jordan says filing electronically allows residents to receive their money 80 percent faster than when using the paper method.
