TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-Cheerful words were shouted from the top of children's lungs as they jumped and danced to celebrate Easter Sunday.

After singing, children remembered the importance of the Christian holiday by piecing together Bible versus and pictures that tell the story of Easter.

"I'm happy to be here. I love this church," said Fellowship Bible Church member, Elias Overbey.

And while children were having fun downstairs, nearly 2,000 adults and families were upstairs of Topeka Performing Arts Center listening to the Pastor's message.

The spiritual message resonated with several Kansas Christians who were in attendance along with Pastors from local churches.

"People young and old are loving God and responding to him,"
said Fellowship Bible Church Pastor, David Hinkel.

"It's incredible to have all our church together and in one place at one time. It's amazing," said Worship Arts Pastor, Bill Horn.

Towards the end of the Easter service, a few members of the congregation held signs that expressed how their lives were before Christ and how their lives changed after implenting Christ in their lives.

The Christian holiday was a day of reflection, hope and appreciation for all.

"Follow God and read the Bible and follow his word and it will be the best thing for your life," said Overbey.
